Are ebay parts worth it?
I'm looking for a 383 kit for my LT1, and ebaymotors has some for around $600. Is that a decent price? Are they reputable? How many have bought major parts off ebaymotors and they be worth the money??

Only as reputable as the seller.
Just being on ebay doesn't somehow render the parts (or prices) either superior or worthless.
Evalulate them the same way you'd evaluate them if you were buying them from Jeg's; brand name and part number, and compare the price to what you can get them for elsewhere.
Comp and Speed Pro and Eagle and Lunati and whoever else, don't sell their parts to people for ebay auctions any cheaper than they sell them to Jeg's, Summit, and your local speed shop. Usually you'll find there's not a really huge difference in price as a result. Always compare before you automatically assume that just because it's on ebay it's either a great deal or it's junk.
Don't forget to factor in shipping charges to your comparison. Alot of people on ebay post an artificially low price and then charge high flat-rate shipping, and that's where they make up their lost profit. Pay attention to the total real cost.
The things you can get the real deals on are stuff that individuals have, but can't use, and are unloading.

hell yeah. I picked up a drivetrain from a 78 vette (i know..... but keep listening) that had forged parts and new bearings, oversize valves, and an XE262 cam, plus racing clutch packs, a 2400 stall, a shift kit, and stronger gears, all for $1000 bucks shipped. the guy just had it sitting for 2 years, and got tired of turning it over by hand, and changing the oil to keep it in good shape. and we cranked it up two weeks ago (thanks RB!!!!!) and damn, she sounds mean as hell.
I also bought my intake, my shaker scoop, my 86 dash that looks brand friggin new, my hoist and load leveler, and my t-top surround seal for my car. all good stuff, at good prices.

like he said, its the parts people are unloading that you usually get the great deals on..
like this carb, i got a 750 holley for $80... it didnt even need a rebuild. the guy just thought that he needed a smaller carb for his motor....
turns out he just had some huge jets in it for some reason... it works great now
take it on a part by part basis, and look at the shipping costs, and you'll be fine.
if you can, get a part number and look it up elsewhere. often the person selling it is wrong.. like with FPRs they might say its a return style when its not... ect.. but you catch that stuff when you have the part number.
