305TPI-T5 to 350HO-?
305TPI-T5 to 350HO-?
I would like to swap my 91Z28 305TPI T5 to a 350 HO motor with a manual tranny. My questions are:
1) What would I need besides the Scoggin-Dickey vortec baseplate to bolt the TPI unit back on? Will TPI provide enough air to the motor?
2) Should I switch to a T56 or a Tremec TKO for a street driven car? Is one easier and more cost effective?

If you want a crate engine with Vortec heads and TPI, don't bother with the HO engine. The power will be down quite a bit vs. a carb'd HO.
Go with this engine http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...=1577&pid=9009 . It comes with the base and the engine internals to get the power. See the bottom of their write-up to see what else it takes to get there.
The T-5 won't stand up to the power with anything approaching abuse for very long. Either tranny you mentioned will be a big improvement. The next weak spot will be the rear.
