Vortec swap question
I'm planning to swap a 350 Vortec engine in my 90 Formula. Since my car is a TBI car and I intend to keep this setup I have a question concerning the EGR. After seeing the CHP article and what was involved in hooking up the EGR I'd like to know will it hurt the engine or the performance if I didn't make the EGR functional? The valve itself will still be in place to satisfy the visual inspection and all (NC drops emissions testing on '96 and older cars in 2006) and since I know of no TBI car that doesn't have a recurring Code 32 (mine included) I'd like to know if running it without EGR would damage it. I plan on getting a chip with the code 32 and EGR removed if this is the case.

Removing it from the chip will be fine. EGR helps keep part throttle emissions down along with combustion temps. Even though you have it on there for insoection, make sure you plug everything up or you will have some bad leaks.
