well I installed the 383 in the camaro since last week and the clutch kit arrived yesterday so today i start trying to extract the pilot bushing that was in the crank hub which is strange to me since the engine was in an automatic truck but anyways yes they come with pilot bushings that must be removed to install the one that comes with my clutch kit and I hit a stubborn pilot bushing.
so I chizeled the **** out of the bushing but no cigar still stuck in the hub. does anyone know where I can get the right type of puller for this problem????

 

I know bay city clutch here in tampa rents the tool out, i've never had luck with getting those things out, i usually end up with a wide flat pointed chisel and smack em till they break enough to dig the little crumbled bits out.

 

I usually hydraulic 'em out with grease. Too easy.

But that won't work any more; once you fornicate it to the point that the hole is too big to seal to a dowel or whatever of the right size (I use an old transmission clutch gear), you've got no choice left but to chisel it or find a puller that will work.

I can tell you that the one they have at Auto Zone WILL NOT work, it's too big to go into a GM pass car pilot.
