fuel pressure difference from tpi to carb

i am swapping a carbed 355 into my 85 trans am that originally had a tpi 305...

you have to lower the fuel pressure from 40-something down to like 5-7psi for the carb right?? (running the electric fuel pump) and whats the best way to do this? --The 25 dollar regulator from Jegs???

any help would be great,
thanks

You have to get a regulator that allows the excess fuel pressure to travel back into the return line.

Yep, that's the easiest way to do it. When that goes out you could get a low pressure hi flow pump to replace it.
