Bare block LT1 question Need info ASAP
Hi everyone, a friend of mine has a bare block 350 LT1 that he is going to give to me for free, and I have a carbed 305 right now in my car. My question is can the LT1 block be converted over to carb easily? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Edelbrock makes an intake for the LT1....the LT1 block has the distributor hole cast into the block like a Gen I block. So yes, it wouldn't be a problem.
Yes it can, but if you're thinking you can just reuse your 305 stuff or even standard SBC parts you're wrong. You're going to need an LT1 water pump and a remote thermostat housing, as well as LT1 accessories.

LT1
So I would not be able to use my alternator, power steering, air conditioning, and water pump? Is there anything I could read about a LT1 carbed motor swap?Like what I need for it? (keep in mind i just have a block of an LT1, no pistons no nothing.).
Thanks,
Tony

if all you have is a LT-1 block I wouldn't mess with it. I'd try to sell or trade it for a '90's 350 block. then alot of your 305 parts will work and all you'll need is the internals and such.
the LT-1 block doesn't net you anything unless it's a complete motor.
just my .02 cents worth
