Car seems to be over heating

Ok just installed 350 using 305 tpi, have ajustable regulator set to 45 psi using stock 305 injectors, xe256 comp cam, 350 heads, Motor was completaly rebuilt from new crank and up, car runs great except seems like it gets a hotter then when I had the 305 in it. Fans do come on are are working fine, coolant is flowing have check with cap of, so i'm asuming no restrictions, in the lines. Just wondering if it could have anything to do with the fuel pressure, or timing. Timing was set when cam was degreed, but does anyone think maybe computer is retarding the timing, still have 305 chip in it. Any help would be great. Thanks

Just a guess here but it could be that the 305 tuning is running too lean with your new engine. A lean condition can make an engine run hot. This, of course, is assuming the water pump is okay and the thermostat was installed right side up.

Thats what I was thinking, So you think maybe after installing the new chip, the lean problem might fix it. Or any thoughts on a temp fix until I recieve new chip?

iroc, does the coolant start to flow, at what seems to be a reasonable temp, but the car continues to get too hot?
(You can tell by holding the top rad hose)
