What is this thing?

I am swapping a 406 into my 85 Z28, and there is something right behind the intake manifold that looks like something might have to hook up to it. It looks almost like a little nipple sticking up off the block behind the distributor. On my 305 there is a small canister-looking thing attached in the same place. I don't know what this is called and if I need it or not. It had a wire hooked into it, but I don't know whether that came from the computer or not. Sorry about the vague description, but if you need pictures just let me know.

Thanks,
Adam

I believe it could be the oil pressure sending unit.

Yeah, sounds like the oil pressure sender. You'll want to put one on there, or plug the hole in the block or you'll have a nice fountain of oil.
