LT1 Fans

Hey guys, I am finishing up putting an LT1 in my 89 RS. I am just using the 1 fan but the LT1 had 2 obviously. So I just wired my fan to the primary relay and it works fine. But now I am throwing a check engine lite with a code for the 2nd fan relay? Have any of you guys come across this before? or do you just have the #2 fan deleted from the PCM? By the way it is a 97 LT1 and PCM.

I'm doing the exact same thing, but I'm not as far along as you. I, however, am thinking of isolating the cooling fan relay, and wiring it to a switch, and eliminating them both from the PCM. Think this will work?

I deleted my 2nd fan, programmed the 1st one to be "always on". No problems, car stays at 211* in 104 degree heat down here.

I drove it briefly last nite. But Couldn't do too much I found that the alternator isn't charging the battery. So the alternator might be junk. I also have to bleed the power steering system. Other than that it's driveable just have to put some small things back together like hanging wires and such.

Pasky Thanks for the reply I might just have to have it deleted out then. I have the fans come on pretty early so it stays nice and cool. PLus I have a 160 t-stat.

Im using a 190* thermostat. Im sure you will have better results than me. Replace your radiator cap while your at it.
