I have an 89 iroc, the motor went to crap so i scrapped it. so i found an ad in the paper and this dude was selling an 84 Z28 motor with low mileage. so i took a drive and bought it. turns out it don't fit with my fly wheel and all that other crap with the tranny. being a young beginner at mechanics, can i convert this over or do i need to find a whole new engine? or did he sell me a truck motor he said was a Z28?

 

Let me take a guess, its the age old flywheel, starter, issue? Your car has a 1 piece RMS, and the new engine has a 2 piece. Get the flywheel made for the engine, and the right starter, and bolt it all together. The engine will mate to the trans just fine/
