LT1 swap wiring harness questions.

LT1 swap wiring harness questions.
I have a 85 TA, 305TPI, 700R4, G92 performance package, the works. Anyway, Im wanting to do a LT1 swap come spring. As a former 95 Z28 owner I know how fun an LT1 can be.
My questions are,
1. Do you have to cut the factory wiring harness or anything?
I want to be able to go back to all original if I want. I dont want to cut stuff up.
2. Just how much of a nightmare is the harness/computer swap?
Im good with computers(custom build them ect) and just got done completely rewiring my 72 VW beetle(custom wiring job). So Im pretty good with this kind of stuff.
Im planning on a Vette LT1 so I dont have to modify the accessories(this correct right?).

1. Yes, but if you have to, you could leave the stock harness there too, just going to create one helluva mess under there. Why would you want to go back? Cut it all out and keep what you need.
2. Not that bad, there's only about 8 wires you need from the original harness.
Vette LT1 drops right in.

if i wanted to do what you say, i would get an lt1 harness and a copy of your harness.. then hack yours or the copy up to do the lt1 swap. and have the other incase you go original again.
the nightmares in the swap are little by any means but..
-custom fuel lines
-for fbody lt1, PS resv mounting..
-fbody lt1, extending the harness to locate computer in a good spot.
-actually wiring harness to be pretty.
all in all it's more time consuming then a nightmare. though anyone using an fbody setup, i'd go carb and use 3rd gen setup..
unless ya get a deal on the acc.
never did the vette so i don't know if there is anything easier or harder with it.
