New Engine. What all do i need???
ok. looks like im gonna be getting a rebuilt 350 or 383 stroker to stick in my 84 TA that currently has a 305 LG4. Im wondering what all i will need to complete the job. New intake manifold and carb are already on the list. headers will come later. gonna replace engine mounts. am i going to need a new comp and wireing harness. if so, where would i find a comp and wireing harness. and is there anything else i should be replaceing while i put in the new engine. trying to do this right so any input is much appreciated.

or an aftermarket holley or edelbrock?
if you buy aftermarket then you are bypassing the computer and you better get a non computer controlled hei distributor......

"Location: Sacramento, CA" pretty much dictates the induction - either the LG4 CC carb, or later factory EFI setup is your only choice.
Shackling a 350 with LG4 exhaust borders on criminal. Getting a performance exhaust by the watchful eyes of Herr Inspektor will most likely require L69 parts like Edelbrock TES 6874 headers and complementary aftermarket on-back. The EFE valve is the key there - the size of the y-pipe and the rest of the exhaust is merely for the sake of getting some kind of performance out of the 350.
Keep it looking as much like the LG4 or L69 as you can in order to avoid the "motor change" process (although I'm not completely confident the L69 part will actually avoid it).
