A/c difference?

I am going to start my engine swap next month an I am going to switch to serpentine but have noticed differences in the a/c setup. The compressors are on the otherside, hoses, etc.Aside from the accessories and brackets, what all is different?

Pulleys?

Are you getting a full setup from another car, or are you going to modify what's in yours to work with the serpentine setup?

I haven't had first-hand contact with the later years, but the high pressure switch on an '87 compressor I had used a different connector than my '86. However, I just got a replacement switch for an '86 and put it in the '87 compressor.

Changing to the 88-92 serpentine belt system is a very good upgrade, when I did this to my 87 5.7 TPI, I used the opportunity to upgrade the AC to the 91-92 compressor, as it is more efficient than the older style and blows ice-cold when I want it. Also replace the AC drier with a new one and change to R134.

Switching the alternator to the other side simply requires extending the existing wiring. You'll need a reverse rotation water pump. I used the 91-92 PS pump too. Make sure you have the support rods, there are several, without them the metal will eventually crack, especially around the AC.

Hopefully all this stuff came from the donor car, if not you'll need all the hoses and parts. My set was complete except for the TPI brace [donor car was carbed] and the seals on the AC compressor were shot from sitting around for too long, thus there was the added $300 for a new compressor.
