Hey! Another thirdgen owner from ND. Cool. I get out to Minot once in a while. I live 120 miles northeast of there in Cando. That's a sweet Camaro. I had an 85 sport coupe, now own an 86 firebird coupe.

Absolutely. These are a direct fit. They're what I use, but I modified mine (the K-member stands) because my engine has been relocated.

is there any down side to running soild motor mounts? would u have to run a soild or polyurathane trans mount to run the soild motor mount?

theres a purple 82 camaro around my area with a 427 bbc and he's running soild mounts and looks like he doesnt have a problem but then again the car is pro street car (back half, tubbed , the works but still running stock from subframes.)

I run a stock style rubber trans mount in conjunction with the Moroso solid motor mts. on my car. There is nothing to be gained by using a solid trans mount, but much to be lost.

you cannot run a solid tranny mount without running solid motor mounts. the torque from the motor with rubber or poly mounts with a solid tranny mount will break tailshafts and bellhousings. running it the other way around will not be a big deal though. i run a poly tranny mount, although a rubber mount would be fine too (motor is moving whole car instead of just the motor/tranny)

i never had a set of rubber mounts in the car before so i couldn't tell you for sure (orginal v6 car) but from what i can tell, it puts it back to stock height like when the rubber mounts where brand new. i have no idea how it would be with a big block. cool thing is, my 350hp 305 knocks my car all over the place when i blip the throttle sitting at a light or something

Is there any performance benifits from the stock rubber mounts to solid.

it's all solid so the motor mounts don't soak up the movement of the motor. helps reaction time and stuff. probably only helps 60ft times a little. but when your buying it all anyway, go ahead and get the best (in my case)

BAD VIBRATIONS ////////////////////////////

If your car is going on the street with big power like mid-tens or so I would recommend using poly motor mounts, I do 10.4's @129 mph with my poly mounts. You don't need bad vibrations, it gets old quick.

A solid Tranny mount is a no no unless you have a 12 pt cage. The reason behind this-

The stock chassis will twist, even with subframe connectors, and you will snap the bellhousing in half. You can run solid motor mounts, but no real reason to do it unless you are an all out drag car and dont feel like replacing them in 10 years. Solid motor mounts are usually for guys running over 1000 hp so they dont rip out the polyesters ones.
