Right now i have no powertrain at all in my iroc. Maybe I could put my hand on a working l48 and th350 for 1200$cdn......try to deal for 800$cdn. I know its not the best 350, but right now i dont have 5k$ for a good powertrain and i want my car to move by itself for next summer. It also need to pass safety inspection since she came from a scrap yard, so i dont what to be stuck with a 6k$ iroc that can't roll on the street.

Should i buy it or continue searching for a great deal

Id look for a engine & trans combo thats '86 and newer.

I dont think they'll register a car that has an engine older that the chassis, but dont quote me on that one.
