'89 305 tpi swap for a 350tpi??????
I would like to swap out this old, tired, slow (15.41 @ 99 mph) 305 for a 350!!
I need to know my options are for buying a chevy crate motor that will match up with my stock 305 tpi computer--if there is any..
I have heard that my 305 tpi manifold will not fit 350 heads--is this a myth or a fact??
Thanks for any help!!

The heads part is myth. THe computer will most likely work, but not give you as much power as the 350 want's. The thing is, I think the 350 got bigger injectors, and maybe something else, and if so, swapping to a 350 computer wont make those smaller injectors flow as much as they should on a 350.
You'll get a more accurate answer from someone, I'm sure, but I think this is about it. Everything else would work okey. You could just buy the stuff needed used from the yard.

As far as GM crate motors, there are bolt angle issues with your base and earlier style heads, such as come with the ZZ4 and other crate motors. There is one crate referred to as the "Caprice" crate 350 that your base will bolt to, but the performance gain won't be awe-inspiring. Your base will not bolt to any crate motor with Vortec heads such as the 350 HO 330 HP version.
You might consider a rebuilt. My brother picked up one of these http://www.rebuilt-auto-engines.com/...46&p_catid=111 , cost about $1700 w/o core return to his driveway. He's as happy as can be with it.

So with the engine your brother bought--(the link you attached)
My tpi manifold should bolt up to those heads with no bolt angle problems??
Thanks for the help,

My friend just did a 305 TPI to 350 TPI this past summer. The 350 was a L05 pulled from a 88? Suburban. The motor was rebuilt, bored and had a nicer cam installed.
Everything from his 305 TPI intake bolted right up to the 350. He did however, need to get larger injectors and a chip for the ECM. We think he could use a larger throttle body to go with his not-so-mild-cam, but for now the 305 one is doing the job.
