Fuel Pump??
Im doing an engine swap in my 1991 Firebird, and im wondering wich fuel pump to use. the engine that i am putting in is a Chevy 350 carb engine with a mechanicanical fuel pump. the engine in my car now is a fuel injected V6 with an electronic pump in the tank. which fuel pump would be best for this application? keep in mind this will be a street and strip car.

The in-tank electric type pump will produce enough volume to supply your engine if it (the pump) is in good condition. You'll need a regulator that includes a return port so the pump is running at full volume all the time. This keeps the pump healthy.
You can also use the in-tank electric as a "pusher" to an engine-mounted mechanical. You'll either need to use a 3-port type mechanical pump like came from the factory on carb'd 3rd gen V8s, or the above-mentioned regulator. Some would argue the regulator should be used regardless.

I have herd from some other people before this board that the electric pump could possibly starve the engine for fuel. is there any truth to this?
