For you LT1 Swappers...
For those of you who've swapped LT1's in, what do ya'll use for Data logging, and tuning? I've got Datamaster EE and OD on my Laptop, but I don't know how to use it. I've got a cable to hook to the DLC, and when I open the program it says PCM Detected. It says I have to open a certain file, and I don't know what file to to open.
I've also got CATS and AutoTap, but I heard Datamaster's the best so that's what I decided to use.

with Datamaster, when you open it up, go to File -> Record ALDL Data and a new screen will pop up. Then go to File -> Open, make up a filename, and hit ok. Hit Start and record for as long as you like, then hit Stop, File -> Save and you're done. Close the Record screen and you can view the file. I love Datamaster

for my initial bolt-on tuning I used Ion at madz28.com he is pretty good..
After custom heads and cam I had to go to the dyno and get it tuned on the rollers by carolinaautomasters.com
if you are looking to do it by hand, have fun, I never tried it though I do have LT1 edit, I have not used it much, just to troubleshoot occasionally and load the first tune the car had..

It's not that bad. I've tuned mine a little bit. I had it on the dyno a while back but my cable quit working for some reason, otherwise I could have done more extensive tuning.
