ZZ4 Swap

Standard rotation water pump No. 12529305 that comes with the zz4.

Does that pump have a threaded fitting where I can install the heater hose adapter.

If there's no fitting can the hose be easily hooked up somewhere else other than hacking into the rad.

I'd prefer not to buy another pump but if I have to I will. I'm thinking maybe get an aluminum pump if I have to change it. Any suggestions as to which aluminum pump?

Thanks

I did a ZZ4 swap from a 1992 305 TBI auto tranny. It is a torque monster now and I have to upgrade the tranny now to handle it. Nice problem to have though

Some items that I had to do/swap were:
1.) Water pump - the ZZ4 comes with a conventional one and I needed a reverse flow for the serpentine system.
2.) Had to drill and tap a 9/16 hole in the front pass. head to accomodate the A/C and smog bracket. (Aluminum is nice and easy to tap )
3.)Oil filter adapter. This is a PITA to locate. I had to go to an engine shop. I still don't understand why GM won't give you this with the engine.
4.) I went to a carb (670 Holly SA) so I had to get a fuel press. regulator and hook that up.
5.) Wiring for the tach. Not hard if you have wiring diagrams.

I shopped around for this level of HP and you would be hard pressed to get a motor like this for cheaper with the same quality. Plus it is fully assembled and can be put in the car in a weekend.

This thing MOVES now. When it hits the sweet spot (about 3500rpm) it slams you back in your seat.
