lt1 corvette pulley system

hey guys I am using the corvette pulley, and the lower Idler pulley is hitting the sterring box. have anyone out there now of a cure for this? and also I was wondering i need to remove all the old tbi wiring, and if so what is the esiest way to pull it out whole. I have a harness that is labeled so i think i can stumble through that. Wiring is not my best part but I usual can figure it out. and des anyone have picks of the way you guys ran the heater core lines and the water pump on the lt1. thanks for all the help so fare. heres a pic of what i was talking about

did you replace the motor mounts? it seems to me like something isn't lined up right. every photo I've seen of a vette LT1 install has the idler pulley sitting well above the steering box.

it even looks like the pulley might be sitting behind the steering box a little, but its hard to tell because of the angle.

i used the factory ones, the only thing that I might have done is put the mounts on the wrong side. meaning the left on the right and the rt on the left. would that do it?

I dont think so. my guess is you have old mounts and they've sagged quite a bit. might want to replace them with poly mounts and I bet your problem is solved. can you tell how much interference there is?

which clamshells, the part of the mount that bolts to the block, are you using?

Thats my setup above...I'll have to send you some newer pics from different angles Texas.
You have to reuse the original mounts from the 3rd gen V8.
I can't recall off the top of my head how close it is but I know there are no clearance issues anywhere at all using the 'Vette accesories. Something must be wrong like Texas said...you probably have the mounts in the wrong place on the block.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think there are two different places on the block that the mounts can attach. If you say yours is sitting on the mounts correctly, then you probably have them on right. they will only go on one way and actually 'meet' with the ones on the subframe.

Trans Am, I'd definitely appreciate it. have you seen the new LT1 swap board I've set up? you can throw them up on there if you like. e-mail them to me at C07Robert.Reeves@usafa.edu and I can host them for you.

sean - I'm not real sure what to tell you man. if you put the mounts back in the forward position on the crossmember, the only think I can think of is you might have the block-side mounts on the rear holes. I know on mine the driver's side had to be moved forward when we pulled the 4th gen piece off. might check that.
