LO3 to corvette L98 swap Help please
I have a few questions. Im swapping my LO3 out for a 1990 corvette L98 longblock. I have these heads layin around for 3 years that i got for $300 with less than 1k miles on them (the guy was building a hot rod but decided to go with an LS1) He told me that theyre ZZ4 heads. I did some research and i guess theyre the same heads that came stock on a 1990 vette L98. Theyre aluminum with 58cc combustion chambers. They have comp cams roller tip rocker 1.52 ratio. The GM performance orange valve springs. Also he gave me the hardened pushrods that go with them.
1. If I wanna keep the stock camshaft for now, with those springs/rockers work with the L98 cam?
2. The heads have the "D" port exhaust, which gasket shape do I need, (right now I have dynomax headerswith oval opening)
3. I know that when torquing head bolt into aluminum heads you need to use less torque than with iron heads, how many pounds?
4. I have the GM head gaskets for my heads, do I need to spray gasket sealer on them?
5. Im going to use a mechanical fuel pump, does the stock L98 cam have provisions for a fuel pump rod?
Is there anything else Im missing?
