There are threads about installing a 500" caddy... look up those threads with a
... the 500 is the same block as the 425 I'm sure.

This will be a "unique" swap, requiring ingenuity and fabrication. Although I don't recall threads talking about it before, search and verify.
As another thread about swapping in a twin-turbo Japanese engine (which has pretty much turned into a flamefest), for the most part you're going to be on your own.

there was a thread going on w/links to the firewall being cut so that the dude could have the increased weight in the front offset. Even w/a search, I haven't found it yet ( unless I ran into a suk mde search

Years back I helped install a 472 caddy into my buddies 81 grand prix. We bought a motor mount kit from a place that specializes in caddy performance parts. I cannot think of the name of the place at the moment, do a google and I'm sure it will come up. You will need a BOP trans for the tranny to bolt up so you are limited I think to T-350, T-400, or 200r4. Maybe there is a 700r4 that has the BOP pattern I don't remember. But bottom line you are going to have to do lots of fabricating, get the torque arm attatchment for trans, cut the driveshaft, and whole lots of wiring depending on what you want to run for fuel control.
To be honest his car ran low 14's in the 1/4 which is ok. But we could have built one heck of a small block chevy for all the work and parts needed to complete the swap.
Best of luck.

Do you already have the engine? If not, I'd seriously consider going for the 500 Caddy. Here in GA they are really common at Pull-A-Part (for about $100 each!); look for 70-76 Eldorados, or any 76 fullsize Caddy. The early motors have higher compression, and respond really well to modifications. 550hp and 650+ torque isn't uncommon on a street motor with ported factory heads, and the block and crank are very beefy, much more so than most other GM motors. Maximum Torque Specialties, among others, have performance parts for them. Bulldog makes aluminum heads, Edelbrock makes intakes...just about all the cam companies have cams for them, too. The only real stumbling block would be headers .The Caddies respond extremely well to headers...even the best factory manifolds (Eldorado)flow kind of crappy. Sanderson makes headers to fit (nice ones!), but I'm not sure if they'll work in an F-body. Once I get some free time I'm going to find out for sure though. Redraif has a set to go on the 500 going in her dually (10:1 compression, Ross pistons, Eagle H-beam rods, shaft rockers, etc...should be the fastest dually around!). MTS also has header "kits"...basically Hooker headers for BBC with Caddy flanges and some U-bends (you have to cut off the originals and make them fit). Oh BTW, MTS claims the stock 500s will take a 250 shot of nitrous...they do it pretty routinely!
