Where to buy an LS1 engine w/ 6 speed
where can I buy a good used LS1 with a 6 speed and what should this cost?
6spd option alone is around 2-2500 depending on what all is included. might save a bit buying one straight out of a car though.
a4 with harness, engine and cpu can run anywhere from 2,500-5,000 depending on location, mileage, etc.
i'd say with a 6spd 4-5,000 with everything and good miles would be safe. any less and your getting a pretty decent deal, any more and i'd look more.

I would give Tennessee Auto a call, Scott is a good guy to deal with and always has LS1s with both 4L60E and T56's and isn't bad on pricing either.

You could try the guys over at www.thirdgenparts.com They seem to get LT1s and LS1s in all the time.

if you have the time you can usually get a wrecked ls1 car for around 4500-5k
i got my 99 TA for about that.. you have to pay a bit more for shippin but its well worth it considering you get every part you need and can sell the others to make up a bit of the difference

They're actually getting more and more expensive every day especially 6 speed cars. I've seen a 2000 SS with an LS1/6-speed that was hit pretty hard in the back with 20k miles go for 10k at an auction.

You might want to try Hawks. You might have to pay a little more, but Bruce will stand behind anything he sells. I have heard horror stories about E-bay ripoffs. Be carefull.
P.S. I don't any harm is done if a guy still in the planning stage uses this board. We were all there once.

since no one has ever mentioned it.. try Billy Graham's 4th gen auto salvage.. all they do is 4th gen cars and usually have a few engines available.. check the name on google to get the website. they also advertise in chevy high performance, camaro performers, and super chevy magazines.
