Is this fuel system kit ok for an ls1 swap?

i figure i may as well upgrade the fuel system instead of hacking it together. i searched on jegs and came up with this one: http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...13&prmenbr=361

part number: 027-17125

how does this look? the pump is advertised at supporting 1100hp with an EFI setup. is an inline fuel pump as good as an intank or better? also would it be easy to adapt to the ls1 fuel rails?

Right below where you clicked, it said this:

"Putting LT1's, LS1's, and their variants into Third Gens is becoming more popular. This board is for those who have done the swaps so they can continue to discuss all of their technical aspects, including repairs and performance upgrades."

Ah well, it was a good idea. Maybe time to reinstate the old DIY-PROM forum policy where you had to get approved in order to post there?

I'm just curious, why would you dump $1400 into the fuel system alone when all you really need is a pump upgrade?

I agree. A drop in Walbro will work adequately for most cars. A huge nitrous shot and fully built motor wasn't mentioned and he'd have to install a different pickup anyway...

I have a Walbro pump that I purchased when I converted my car to TPI. Several years later I did the LS1 swap and it runs 58 PSI easily. Possibly the last pump you ever have to buy, and is very inexpensive (by comparison). Then I bought the fuel pressure regulator setup from Fbodymotorsports.com. It converts the standard fuel setup to work with "returnless" style fuel rails found on later LS1s and has all the needed fittings to make it plug & play.

as for why i would buy the kit, i just changed my fuel filter and stripped the bolts to hell trying to get them off. eventually i woul dlike to run heads and cam and nitrous. maybe way on down the road a high hp FI setup after that and wanna make sure i only have to do the job once.
