More questions, need help
Hey guys
this is just a general question about the v6 to v8 deal. I've already started and nearly finished the tearup of both cars I have. I bought a radiator that came off a V8 thirdgen but was wondering what modifications were needed to get it to fit right. There seems to be these black clips that are interfering with having the new radiator fit in. Do those need to be removed altogether? Or repositioned somewhere else?
Also, I'm thinking the trans cooler is whats right in front of the radiator? I had a T5 and am going to a TH350. Do I need to find a trans cooler that came from an auto car thirdgen? Will the T5 one work? Or is it even possible that the trans cooler from the 79 camaro could work?
Thanks for any replies.

Wasn't that an automatic transmission radiator I sold you? I could of swore it was. If not, I have a few other radiators sitting around here. I have a 2 core manual transmission radiator also. When I swaped my IROC-Z over to a TH700R4 for a while I just used the OEM radiator and plumbed in an external tranny cooler in front of the condenser. It worked fine. Speaking of which I probably have that cooler sitting around somewhere too.

The factory built the transmission coolers into the radiator tank (with a very few towing packages with external coolers as well).
Typical advice is to put an external cooler in front of the radiator to be used as well as the built-in trans cooler. Especially true if you have a higher stall converter than stock.
