Car: 91 Pontiac Trans Am
Engine: 305
Transmission: 700r4
is it worth it?

i have a 1991 pontiac trans am. all stock 305 tpi 700r4. is it worth swapping out my 305 to a 350 or should i just save my money and sell my car and try to get something with an lt1 or ls1. please note that this is also my everyday driver. thanks for your opinions.

"Worth it" has several definations. Not knowing exactly what you mean, here are some attempts at determining that:

Is is worth it cost vs. value (what someone would pay you for the finished product)? Rarely, especially if you pay someone to do the swap.

Is it worth it from a "smile factor" viewpoint? Depends upon the other demands on your funds in your life. Typically, from the gearhead/performance enthusiast's point of view, the answer there is "yes", regardless of the choice of those listed.

FWIW, the cost of those options increases as you go down the list: 350, LT1, LS1. But, then, so does the performance.
