advice with manifold and cam.

Ok, Please forgive me on the lag time of my responces, I am using the library computer..

I had asked about what type of cam to use in my 355 small block,
and here is the answer I recieved.

"More gear would help keep the time below 3000 RPMs at a minimum, but you're probably right in thinking it's time to change cam & intake.

A Comp XE268 or XE274 would lower the RPM band. A Performer RPM or Stealth dual-plane intake would come in sooner and pull as long as the cam would."

I know a little about performance stuff, so please bear with me.

these comp cam profiles you offered me, what type of cam is this?
is it a mid range or top end cam, or bottom end. how will this make my engine run? where will my power come on?

second q: I want to run deep gears in my car, a friend told me to install a 3.73 posi unit in my rear end. I wanted to install a 4:11
with a used corvette 6 speed. is this a bad idea.
my dad had a early chevelle with a 4:11 and a 4 on the floor, I loved the way it would plant you back in the seat a couple of inches.
will my car do this if I install the comps cams and performer manifold?
I am not rich, but I have a few k saved for this switch. I just want to spend my money on a package that works well together.
what should I do.
here is what I have done so far.

I have eibach prokit springs, global west bushings, edelbrock
panhard rod, and bigger front rear sway bars from summit.
my exhaust is a edelbrock tes header with 3 inch back to a flow master dual exit. the a.i.r. on the top of the header has been cut off and welded flush..
I installed a set of sealed power rings on my pistons, and the bottom end has been balanced.

anyways I know this is alot. but if you could give me a outline to follow, I will do it..
thanks for the help
Jeremy..

If thate trans is a ZF, forget it.

if its a T-56, its all good.

The XE274H is a flat tappet cam (what you need)
