depends on the trans, for the manual its something like 30,000 pulses per mile. In other words, the LT1's use a different method of measuring speed. The T-56 has a 17 tooth reluctor wheel on the output shaft, while the 4L60E has a 40 tooth wheel. This is fed into the PCM, which then outputs a 4000 pulse per mile signal to the speedo.

ok i have a question for ya. i have a 700r4, are the vss signal s the same for a 700 and a 4l60e the same? one of the codes that i am seeing in my computer is the vss output. is that due to i dont have the vss output wire hooked up to anything. i thought that i could just splice into the 92 vss harness that conects to the tranny and it would be good. I havent cked the speedo to see if it works. do i need to hook the greenand white vss output wire to something? and one other question once i change my computer to a manual will my speedo read off since it isnt a manual. i was going to reflash it to get rid of the tranny codes. but want to make sure it wont mess up speedo

No, they are not the same. You will need a VSS for a 93 model, as its the only one that used a 700R4.

To get your speedo working, you'll need to wire the speedo output from the PCM to your C207 connector that is under the dash.

I beleive that all 4th gens had a speedo pulse of 40,000 ppm signal and the 3rd gens use a 4,000 ppm signal

Trying to remember how I compenstated for that in the chip when I swapped the T56 into my 91Z

no its different between the sticks and autos due to the different reluctor rings. The sticks have a 17 tooth ring, autos have a 40 tooth ring.

Also, as far as I know you cannot use a '93 VSS with a '95 ECM.

the 92 and the 93 do, but the 95 is very different

you should be able to do it with the 95 stuff, just have the 95 vss hooked up stock(for 95, into the engine harness, to the PCM only), then feed the PCM speedo output(is now 4000PPM, exactly what your 92 needs) to the buffer, then, the PCM can be used to calibrate the speedo just like a 95 Camaro
