Carb and intake question
I will be replacing the 305 in my 84 Trans Am with a 350. My question is which intake and carb will fit under the hood. It has the stock cowl induction system and I want to be able to keep the cold air induction with an aftermarket intake and carb.

Is there any particular reason you aren't keeping the stock system? What do you plan on putting in there for a 350?

I want to put in a carb and intake that will give me a little better performance. From these boards, I understand a Weiand or Edlebrock intake will give me more power.

What other modifications have you made to the car? There are a lot of things that will give you a better bang for your buck than changing the carb and intake.

I have made any other mods yet. I just got the car recently. I is a WS6 with a think a stock 3:23 rear. It has the OD tranny. I need to do alot including suspension, engine, some interior and paint. It's not going to be a daily driver. I'm thinking of getting the 290 horse GM crate 350.

Your stock intake and carb would work very well with that engine. You need to concentrate on exhaust upgrades - that's where you'll see performance improvement worthy of your $'s.
