Transmission: BROKEN, PREVIOUS OWNER REPLACED ORIG. WITH CAMARO....JUST BECAUSE IT FITS DOESN'T MEAN IT WORKS....DUHHH

yet another stupid newbie question....
I HAVE: 86 FIREBIRD 2.8 AND TRANNY
DONER: 86 CAMARO 3.8 AND TRANNY
AM i GOING TO RUN INTO ANYTHING i HAVE TO FABRICATE? wiring problems? driveshaft?
I will have the entire wrecked body of the camaro.

I think the answer is "yes".
A member has posted pics and details about the swap. I forget what he called it, 3.8 swap, or 3800 swap, something like that. Search a few different ways to see what he did.

Thanks I did a search for 3.8 in the swap board but I'll expand my search a little

Yes it can fit, however there is a good bit of work to do for a decent overall install, and quite a few parts, most of it is similar to the LT1 / LS1 swaps.
Fuel lines use a push lock connection just like an LT1, have a rail mounted regulator so all you need is adapter lines.
Motor mounts will have to be fabricated.
Cooling system hoses will have to be custom - use hoses from other vehicles or sectioned together hoses (get creative)
Wiring will have to be pretty much custom, you *can* modify the stock harness to fit, however i've never been extremely happy with the fit using a modified stock harness, this is why if you look you'll see my harness interest post, trying to get an idea of who might want swap harnesses and 3800 is on my list of engines to produce the parts for.
I believe with your motor being from a 96 your stock thirdgen trans crossmember will work, you may have to make some clearance for the a/c compressor.
