Finaly got some pics of the lt1
Well i finaly decided to take some pics of the lt1 swap. Its still in construction and most likely will continue well into the winter. I plan on changing alot of small stuff. Im concerned with the charcoal can gas line the is 1/4 away from my headers. I dont like my ps setup so most likely i will be getting a stainless line for that as well as my fuel lines. My wiring is hidden pretty good but the pcm is getting mounted above the engine on the back firewall. I have the plastic bracket for the pcm im just going to mount it there so i can remove it easily. I dont think ive seen one there yet. Then i plan on hiding everthing in the engine bay that i can.

ok made them smaller. Notice my homade throttle cable
part of a sunfire and part of a v6 bird. I took the inner cable out of a sunfire and cut it to fit. then i took a length of mid cable sheilding and cut it to fit. finaly i cut the ends off the old v6 cables drilled the old cable out and inserted the new cable sheild in there. It fit so tight i didnt even use glue to hold them. Then i just ran the cable section through the middle crimped new ***** to the end and it was done.

the radiator hoses are a mess. They are getting changed too. I had to buy a plastic 90* elbow to get them to fit. I hope it doesnt melt. BTW the vette covers are just sitting on there for now i plan n getting a set of vette valve covers to match them.

Yea not planning on hooking it up anytime soon but maybee next year if i can get it straight as far as the pcm goes. I removed some of the wires from my harness for it so i can imagine its gonna be a real treat hooking it back up.

I capped the purge line going to the gas tank on mine and as for the PS lines, did yours have the line cooler? If so, I used it to make mine. Here's a pic

Is yours in a camaro or bird? why not run a dual snorkel tpi cleaner? Also wouldnt your pcm get pretty hot so close to the headers? What headers did you use? I mounted my ps fluid res way off to the side so you cant realy see it. So you capped off your lines for the charcoal can but are you worried about that metal line getting too hot. i mean its pretty much touchinig a 600* header i was worried about the vapors exploding.

I used the Hedman D-port shorties and their y-pipe, I drilled and welded in the O2 bungs into the back of the headers before the collector. As for the dual snorkel air cleaner, it has been said it robs about 15hp running it vs a CAI and cone filter, the car is a Firebird, and to run the 4th gen elbow, I had to move the battery to the passenger side, which also allowed me to use the 4th gen negative and positive cables. I actually have a little heat shield made that I have in between the headers and the PCM so it doesn't get real hot where it is, I mean GM stuffed it under the cowl on the 4th gens so it hardly got any airflow over it at all. As for the purge line, it's nowhere near the headers on the car at all.

Dang i didnt relize it robs hp to run the snorkel. I was thinking about modding it to run ram air. I used hedman too but mine are round port. Come to think of it i dont know if my round port are going to cover the d shaped ports.
i put my o2s on the y right below the collector they are heated so it should work ok. i will snap a pic of the line i was talking about to see if its the same one we are talking about.

92rs85berlintta, I think you have the valve covers swapped. The oil fill is usually on the passengers side. Maybe not a big deal but then you would have to reroute the ventilation tube.
