Well, the body of my daily driver 86 firebird is in terrible shape, and I dont have the time right now to fix it (too many vehicles in the shop). I can buy a 1985 Trans Am that came with a TPI 305 in it for $350. The trans am doesn't have an engine or tranny in it, so I want to put my 2.8 engine and tranny in it. All of the parts for the swap will come off of the '86. What else do I need to do this swap.

 

sounds like you have it covered. the harness's, front pass brake line, guage cluster,

 

Is your 2.8 efi? If you live near ny i could give you a 3.1 and tranny instead

 

the 2.8 is efi. I'd take you up on the 3.1 offer, but I'm in North Dakota.

Remember, teh t/a probably has 2.73 rear, so your most awesome v6 pickup is gonna lack some.

 

I'm about 120 miles east of minot. Lots of fun hills out there to mess around on. I'm going to put the 10 bolt axle from the beater 86 on the t/a, so I will still have my 3.42s.
