More LT1 questions

I'm trying to get everything lined up so I can drop this in without problems, so I'll see if I can get as many of these out of the way so I don't have to keep posting new topics:

1. Where does the banjo bolt coolant bleed line from the cylinder heads bleed to? I'm using my stock thirdgen radiator.

2. The oil cooler: I've got the line running from the water pump to the oil filter. Where does the return go? I believe it goes to the passenger side of the radiator just below the radiator fill cap and puke line, but some verification would be nice.

3. Fuel pump: If I go the way of a TPI fuel pump, what else will I need to do this part of the swap? What wiring is involved?

4. If I don't have the underhood fuse block and an OEM engine harness, what do I do to compensate for the missing fuse block?

5. Engine coolant level indicator module. Do I need it?

6. On the throttle body, where do all of the ports go? I know the driver's side coolant line comes from the upper radiator hose and one of the passenger side ports goes to the evap canister purge solenoid valve, although I'm not sure which.

Any help with any of the above is greatly appreciated!

1. Where does the banjo bolt coolant bleed line from the cylinder heads bleed to? I'm using my stock thirdgen radiator.

It goes into the passenger side of the throttle body normally, there is what people call a cooling mod where they unhook this hose from the TB and plug it directly into a connector on the LT1 radiator. I think some guys make a T connector and plug it into the overflow to go back into the radiator when using a 3rd gen radiator.

2. The oil cooler: I've got the line running from the water pump to the oil filter. Where does the return go? I believe it goes to the passenger side of the radiator just below the radiator fill cap and puke line, but some verification would be nice.

On the LT1 radiator, it goes to a fitting on the driver side of the radiator on the bottom. As for using the 3rd gen, that's hard to say, as I think alot pull the oil cooler off....I've heard it's worthless.

3. Fuel pump: If I go the way of a TPI fuel pump, what else will I need to do this part of the swap? What wiring is involved?

The wiring should be the same in the tank and I believe the relay is the same. I completely re-wired mine, using only the wire going to the tank hooked up to a new relay I added.

4. If I don't have the underhood fuse block and an OEM engine harness, what do I do to compensate for the missing fuse block?

You will need the fan harness with the relay, and the wiring for the AC if you want to keep AC on the car, plus wire up the 3rd gen cruise control module to the LT1 PCM.

5. Engine coolant level indicator module. Do I need it?

I put an LT1 radiator in mine, and kept the module, it's not hooked up to anything...just there to plug a hole.

6. On the throttle body, where do all of the ports go? I know the driver's side coolant line comes from the upper radiator hose and one of the passenger side ports goes to the evap canister purge solenoid valve, although I'm not sure which.

The driver side cooling line is a return line for the water running through the TB, number 1 refers to the cooling mod just about everyone does to keep the TB cooler. One of the passenger side lines goes to the FP regulator, the other goes to the evap purge solenoid, on the driver side, one goes to the opti vent, the other goes to the EGR valve and the big one of course goes to the brake booster. The one directly in the center of the TB goes to the line which runs back to the valve cover on the driver side, and the big one on the passenger side of the TB goes to the PCV valve.

Hope this helps

You're incredible. Thanks for taking the time to answer all of my questions on this post and on many of my others.

The steam vent from the head you want to use the stock LT1 hose for the drivers side which has the little T fitting into it, hook the steam vent hose together with that little one.
