Need Help
alright well theres a nice 84' firebird for sale but the catch is its a 4 banger and if i was 2 get it i wanna swap it out for a larger engine maybe a 350 depending on what i can get my hands on. well my question is how much work is really needed for this do i need to make more mounts switch all the electronics or what any advice on what i need 2 do thanks
depends on what 350 you go with. 350 chevy smallblock carb, tpi. Or maybe 93-97 LT1, or the 346 LS1. Depends on what tranny too. Really, any of the mentioned above shouldn't be too hard. There is a lot of information here at thirdgen.org. I think its just as much work figuring out what to do and what specific parts are needed for the swap.
I'm guessing - you'll probably need V8 front springs, V8 exhaust, V8 motor mounts. You'd probably get this stuff anyway.

the very first thing you need to get, if you don't already have one, is a shop manual. This will let you know what wires are for the important things and what you can get rid of. After that, you need an entire V8 front suspension and motor mounts and trans. It will quite literally be a bolt in operation when you get the correct parts. The hardes part is figuring out what you want and then wiring it correctly and cleanly.

Basically covered here. The only thing I'm unsure of is if the crossmember engine mounts need to be moved. I assume they do, if the current mounts aren't in the forward-most set of holes, they need to move.
