L98 TPI to carbed stroker smallblock
Hi all ! Great forum,
I have read many threads here but I am still not sure where to go with this. I have purchased a mint 87 GTA with a new rebuilt 5.7 tpi. I want this car to use as a weekend hot rod and have decided to pull the new L98 out and install a fully balanced and forged 383 stroker with AFR heads. It dynoes at 536 hp and 511 Torque. I want to remove the ECU harness and ECU so I can sell the new L98and TPI system including harness and relays ect so the new owner will have everything he/she needs to plug and play their new motor. My province does not require emissions stuff so Im just going with a 670 street avenger and headers. My question is... does the plug on the firewall[driver's side] contain all the wires I need to hook up the carburated engine and lights, etc . When I unplugged the harness from the ECU inside the car I had to unplug some plugs that go under the dash as well. I am hoping that these are not required to operate the heater or gauges. I have a lockup switch for my 700R4 and already figured that part out by reading here. The 3.27 B/W rear axle is probably a little light for this set-up but if there are others running this power level with the B/W stock I would like to here if the rear end broke on them. Also one other question : how much would .040 over L98 {0 miles} with hypereutectic flatops [9.5-1] and a mild performance roller cam, rebuilt L98 heads [3 angle valve job] and complete TPI with MAF be worth? I'm not looking to make a profit but just find fair market value for this setup {and help pay for the new engine I bought!} Thanks
