Swap to 454 Carbd Help?

Hey guys
im strating school this week and i plan on putting a carbd 454 in my 89 GTA. Ive been doing a lot of searching on this site but ive had trouble coming up with a parts list of all the things you need to support the engine. I know all the motor parts i need but im not sure about the other stuff. Ignition, throttle bracketry and cables, fuel pump, what kind of distributor ( i read heis dont fit), fuel pump and all the other parts for the carb conversion. The block crank rods and pistons are all on order right now and im lookin at having the engine in the car in about 5 months. I want to know how i can make the swap compatible with my car like the speedo. . So could some you guys help me out and tell me all the complimentary parts i will need to get my big block driveable. ?
Also i have some questions about the electronics. First off what do i do about my gauges, can i run my power brake booster, cooling fans, tranny (i have the 700r4 but will be pulling it out 2 months after my big blocks in the car for a t400 unless i get cash sooner so i need it to work for a little while, dont care about the lockup), i have Vats so do i need to rewire that will it make the comp unusable, and also what other things do i need to rewire or is there anything else you guys can think of that i need to do.

The help is much appreciated

First, let me say that what I'm about to say is in no way intended to be a put-down.

Now:

This kind of swap is something that should only be undertaken by the innovator/fabricator type. If you need a shopping list of things to go buy, you're probably over your head.

However:

Study the information provided in the links above. All of it in all of them. After you've digested as much as possible, you'll still come across things in the process that you didn't anticipate. You'll need to work through them. We'll be here to provide as much help as possible, but you really need to expect problems to crop up as you go along that you cannot go to the parts store to solve.

i understand that and dont take it all offensively. I am a novice, while i have built engines before this is my first big build. But my teacher whos been building engines for like 40 years is gonna be helping me the whole way and i wouldnt even undertake the project if i wasnt under his guidance and the fact that we have a fabrication section set up in our auto shop which is where ill be doing the project.

Having a mentor is a good thing. Will probably make success much more likely.

Keep us up on the progress.
