5.7 TBI swap into a Jeep
Great forum, guys, you are a wealth of knowledge.
let me start by saying i know nothing about SBC's, but i;m learning.
I am swapping a 4 bolt main, 5.7 TBI with under 30K on it, into a Jeep Wrangler The casting # is 10243880 if means anything. I had the whole vehicle it came out of, it was an 1993 1 ton van. However the dealer installed a new long block around 2002. I have computer and everything that was connected to the engine from the van.
My question actually is there any thing i could or should do to enhance performance. I am not looking for all out HP increases, but the most low end torque with out affecting dependability.
For example, i need a new TBI unit, the original one got damaged while removing the engine from the van. WHAT a PITA that was. Should i use an aftermarket TBI or just get a stock replacement?
For and exhaust I'll be running a Ram horn cast manifolds to a 2 1/4" pipe to a single 2 1/2" pipe.
