it there any differance between the 700r4 tranny in the 305 cars and the 350 cars? I might be swapping a lc2 in an 3rd gen but I need to know which version to buy.

They should be the same - there was a difference in v6 vs. v8 cars, and some internal differences from pre-1987 and post 1987 - post 1987 being the stronger, having an auxillary valve body, and etc.

There were differences from year to year. But not from 305-350 on any given year. Pick one from late 87 or later and use it.

The 305 and 350 are the same the only thing you'll need is an adapter plate from tci to bolt it to the lc2 tci part#230001. I'm currently swapping an lc2 into my 87 formula. if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Can I ask what exactly a LC2 is? I thought all 350 blocks were identical, unless maybe a really new block is different (my 350 block is a 1969) and I don't know about the newer goodies (just call me Old Skool).
