86 5.0 TPI to 5.7 TPI?

First off, my apollogies for this post. Surely this question has been answered elsewhere in these forums. I have searched but, haven't came across the definate answers for my particular scenario.

I have an 86 IROC 5.0 TPI with a bad cylinder. I've never liked the 5.0 and figure the TPI should fit a 5.7 nicely. I'll either rebuild one of the few 350 blocks I have laying around or go for a short/long block crate engine. I wish to use the intake and TPI from my 5.0. Is any moderate hp 350 going to work with my TPI and computer? I've heard it'd be as simple as swapping to 87+ 5.7 fuel injectors, is this true? Or, will PROM or even the PCM need to be swapped, aswell?
I haven't read anything about this but, I can imagine a 5.7's throttle body might be larger, aswell? What about the MAF?
In all likeliness, I'm going 5.7 but, would the TPI be as easily matched to say, a 327? or 400?

All the intake components fit, but changes need to be made in the PROM. If you use 350 injectors it will help. You will need a 350 PROM, knock sensor, and ESC (electronic spark control module) if equipped.

Which computer chip?

Ok, engine is nearly built. Here are the final specs of what I went with.
Engine: 5.7L bored .030
Heads: Dart 64cc w/170 ports (cast iron)
Crank: Offset Ground
Pistons: Stock Dished type. Approx Compression: 9.25:1
Cam: Comp Xtreme Energy #12-404-4:
Intake: 222', Exhaust: 226', Lift: .464, Lobe: 114'

I'm guessing all should've been "honky dorey" with above listed computer mods if, I didn't go with a more extreme camshaft. Comp Cams lists it as, "best for modified computer" so, now I'm looking for an aftermarket chip. I've no luck browsing online catalogs for such. If I needed this chip custom built, any best reccomendations?

Thanks Again...

[EDIT] I'm also porting the intake (insert: no accurate measurement here
I've been told this TPI will "choke" my hp in comparison to a carb. But, since being a Senior Master Tech, I've faith in MPI...

If you check out the TPI forum, you'll see things like porting the base & plenum, using shorter/fatter aftermarket runners, etc. The TPI system didn't change flow-wise when they went from 305 to 350, and it doesn't do 305's many favors. So, although you'll pick up some ponies, it won't be as much as it could if you did more than just port the base.

The earlier MAF system is not as sensitive to changes as the later speed density system is. You'll benefit from going to a 350 chip, but the greatest benefit will be realized by getting PROM burning equipment and doing your own mapping.

tbi chips on ebay, only a 100 bucks and he will do it for you, real quick turnaround too. Just if you dont wanna mess with it yourself, he will also replace it if there is ANYTHING wrong.

The TPI will choke off just about anything. I would do a mini ram or a superram to maximixe power.

TPI doesnt necessarily choke anything, it just falls on its face at 4,500 rpm. It does make for incredible torque down low and in the midrange. I like the TPI system, its good for light to light racing for its torque. But I eventually decided to go for my LT1 it has good torque and great power up top.

The 4500 RPM part is the runner length (pulse tuning). The "choking" is the small runners & ports. Both are resolved with the Miniram (aka Gen I "LT1" manifold).

The LT1 intake swap in itself isn't all that unfeasible, either.
