need wiring help

i need some help with wiring i just converted my 89 rs which was TBI to TPI so i pulled all the computer wiring out ofthe car some of it an into the drivers side into the fuse box so i cut all the wires out that were for the motor and then put the rest back in that hook up to the heat, AC, cooling fan dist and some temp sensors on the heads. Now my new harness i bought of ebay for the TPI also has the heat, AC and things integrated into it but doesnt run to the fuse box, I am using a 165 ECM for the MAF system Which wires do i eliminate for the heat AC and things like that from the new harness or coming from the fuse box

thanks

George

TBI to TPI wire trouble

Hi, about 3 months ago I completed an '86 carb to TPI '165 MAF conversion. My first question is do you have any wiring schematics? If not let me know and I will do my best to direct you to some. My best advice is to treat the computer wiring and the car wiring seperate. Meaning treat your computer, harness, sensors, etc as a seperate unit, because there are really only two wires that you need to splice into the car's harness 1.(firewall connector on driver side) the BRN/WHT wire from the alternator. 2.(your car's AC/Heat connection) I believe this should be a DK GRN wire (there is more than one DK GRN wire, I'll try to get the proper pin #) which will tell the engine the AC is on and it needs to idle up. What you are doing is not hard by any means, just take your time and measure twice, cut once if you know what I mean. GOOD LUCK!

I'm curious too about the green wires for the a/c i have 4 of them that are cut.....for my alternator i just ran a new wire from the alternator to the power distrubution block next to the battery........ What about a black w/white stripe wire and the gray wire that is close to the a/c box in the engine bay they were cut when i got the harness i know they are for one fan cause if i touch 'em together the passanger fan comes on.. any clues what i'm missing? One more thing ...I now what the MAF is but whats with the 165?

I will have to get back with you on the DK GRN wires. As far as the GRY and BLK/WHT wires they had a plug on the end of them at one time. The plug went to an AC pressure switch in the line, it was there to activate the secondary fan any time the AC came on. You can either try to reattach a plug if you have AC or you can rewire the fan either to a manual switch or wire it into the primary fan and just have both of them come on.
