i put a SD tpi in my 87 elco and i am in the tuning stages. it fires right up every time and it drives well for now. but when i push on the brakes or come to a stop it feels like the car wants to die. then when i am sitting holding the brakes the car surges and the idle goes from 300rpm to 900rpm like i have a big cam or something. do i have a wire hooked up wrong or? thanks for the help.

 

Have you checked for a vaccum leak?? Could possibly be a fuel pump going bad or a clogged fuel filter.
