Installing the LT1 (without the happy hooker)

Is it possible to drop the LT1 in without the happy hooker attachment?

I pulled my TBI motor out with a chain hooked up to few spots - but the intake and heads are aluminum on the LT1 and that worries me.

Can I bolt my chains from my load leveler to the exhaust manifold bolt holes on the heads without damaging the heads?

yes, just make sure your bolts are long enough that you get good thread contact. I'd use the bolt holes in the ends of the heads or the corner intake bolts personally though. THats what I used.

Like Coach said, you want a bolt that will use all of the bolt hole, and is just long enough to hold the chain tight to the head. You do not want alot of bolt sticking out because if the chain is not relatively tight to the head, it is puting more leverage on the bolt and that is harder on the head.
