Today is the 7th anniversary of my dad's funeral. It's tied in my memory to the Camaro because I bought the Camaro from the guy down the street between the day my dad died (May 4th) and his funeral, back in 1999.

A few weeks later, I picked up the '86 SC donor car (had been rear ended very hard), and took the summer to complete the swap and otherwise get the Berlinetta running - drove it for the first time in mid-August. I didn't know about TGO at the time, so I was pretty much feeling my way through the process. Of course, if I had been regular on TGO before that, I may have been talked out of buying it in the first place, but there's no going back now. Some of the details of the process are starting to fade in time, but I get little reminders from time-to-time (like the starter circuit gremlin we chased last Friday), and things people talk about here.

There was only one other car that I had owned for more than 7 years at the time (the '57), although we currently have a couple of vehicles that we've had longer. I'll have to admit, though, that even though I'll never sell the '57, I really do prefer driving the Camaro.

More to come, I'm sure!
