Optimum timing on a ZZ4 crate
What is the correct baseline timing?

The correct initial timing is set by whoever did the chip. It *should* be the same as a regular TPI, 6 degrees. Max timing at wide open throttle should be around 32-36 degrees, depending on what your engine responds the best.

Thanks Kevin, now here's what may be a dumb question but,...
The engine idles OK right now and is pretty much driveable, how much tolerance or leeway can (if any) can be compensated for by the ecm?
As I understand it the ecm pretty much controls timing.
