Swap 91 firebird formula 5.7 into 1990 Camaro rs 5.0 TBI
Swap 91 firebird formula 5.7 into 1990 Camaro rs 5.0 TBI
I have just had a 1991 Pontiac Formula "F1" 5.7 TPI engine, computer, all wiring, the corresponding Transmission, and Rear End all put into my 1990 Camaro RS that had a 5.0 TBI in it. Everything worked before the swap and everything runs well with the exception that the Speedometer does not work at all anymore and the Tachometer reads approx 1,000 to 1,500 rpm high. What do I need to do to get the speedometer and the tach to read correctly. Would it just be a matter of replaceing the 115mph "RS" instrument cluster with the 145mph "IROC" instrument cluster?

Welcome aboard.
That may do it, but hopefully someone who has direct experience will chime in.
