Tempermental Starting

I replaced the starter a couple of years ago. Recently, the car has had a tempermental start. It mainly does it when the car gets hot for a lil while (like a 20 min or so drive). It will restart right after I turn off the key, but if it sits there a couple of minutes, it won't fire. Car doesn't get too hot, usually about 230 or so during these hot days of summer

All the gauges work, headlights work, radio works, alarm, etc, etc...except there is no fire. So, if you give the car about 20 mins or so to cool down some, it will start just fine. (even on the first fire). And when its running...its purrs like a new kitten...no miss or anything.

Any ideas?

Welcome aboard.

You need more voltage to the starter solenoid, or a solenoid that doesn't need as much voltage. I've recently suffered through the same thing, too much voltage drop across the ignition switch and neutral safety switch.

I haven't had a lick of trouble after installing a remote starter solenoid. If you need details, either , or ask.
