v6 to v8 swap..wiring help
hey yall i am in the process of swappin out my fuel injected v6 to a carbd 350.. ihave my motor out and now im tryin to figure out what wires to get rid of...i dont know if i can keep the same gauges or just switch over to manual guages? and allllll those damn wires in the engine bay just seem like they wrap from the pass side to the drivers side firewall..iono which ones to get rid of. cause i dont want to mess up stuff like the lights and windsheild wipers...its a mess right now , so im trying to minimize the unnecesary wiring...but im lost

this is the exact same issue I had when I was yanking the 2.8 for a 350 in my old camaro. In the end I just tucked the wholeharness away (having labeled every wire as I disconnected them), put in the new motor and hooked up what I needed. then tested and determind which wires I needed, hooking them up, then cutting out what I didn't need. Very time consuming...but I think it's the best way.

thanks man..thats what im about to do..i just dont want a big wire mess...what did oyu do about the tranny? i dont have a cable goin to it.im going from a 5spd to a auto. did you use your old guages? see.this is the problem im having..

Yeah I kept all my old guages. I just went from a V6 700r4 to a V8 700r4. so it all hooked up the same. I'm not sure about going from manual to auto.
