305 tpi to a 383 best way to go

305 tpi to a 383 best way to go

305 tpi to a 383 best way to go. will the stock tpi intake still work? would it be better to switch to a carb or get a mail order chip ? dont want to mess with programing a chip right now. any ideas

There are alot of varibles. Stock TPI can only support about 375 HP. If you put a stock TPI on a 383, there is a chance you might stave it. Plus your going to have to get bigger injecters.

As far as your intake fitting, that depends too. If you have a TPI with perimter bolt heads and thats whats its going on, then it will work. If its a TPI with center bolt heads, thats what it will go on.

IMO carb will be cheaper, but you well need to buy a 75 doller FP regulater, Also some electrical knowledge will be needed to re-wire the FP
