Hey Sorry If This Has Been Covered ..
Its A 1984 Firebird With A 700r4 Auto 4 spd ..Has The Stock 2.8 Carb
Looking To Pop A 305 In ..Car Has T-tops As Well ..305 Should Be Ok With Out Beefing Up The Frame Correct ?
What Would I Be Lookin At As For Needed Parts ..And Things To look Out For

Check out the V6 to V8 sticky at the top of this forum.
I consider subframe connectors a must-do modification on any 3rd gen, including those with V6's.

Ok I Looked Though It ..Im jsut Wondering If There Are Any Recommend Cars To Pull From ..Like Year Etc ? For The Lest StressFull Swap !!! lol

why do you want a 305? 350's make more power, and they have the potential to make a lot more power. The 45 extra cubes shouldn't be much of an issue with gas, if any noticable amount...
If you're set on a 305 I'd try to get an "L69" version. this was the high output version of the 305. it was available in Trans Ams and camaros. It is rated around 190hp versus the standard 305 (the LG4) which is rated around 140hp.
If you are grabbing one from an 84 pontiac f-body- the 8th letter in the vin will either be a "g" (L69) or "h" (lg4). I'm not sure on the other years or makes and models vin's.

The VIN engine code doesn't change with year or model. "G" will always be a L69.
It'll be easiest if the donor car is a Firebird, since the V6 tach is calibrated differently than the V8 tach. But, other differences (such as digital instruments) would make more difference than Camaro or Firebird.
350's became available in the 1987 model year, VIN code "8". Most any year would be okay, but the late 80's on with VATS makes life a little more complicated.
