i'm trying to put my 403 from my 79 T/A into my 82 T/A. Will the olds tranny bolt to my crossmember? Am i in for a nightmarish job trying to get motor mounts hooked up ? How about the torque bar? ANY help would be appreciated. thanks

Why on earth would you want to use that motor in the first place? I don't want to start the arguement that it's a "small block oldmobile", but either way, the motor sucks...
-no, you'll need a custom crossmember I think. Also, tailshaft will not have the torque arm mount. Might be able to use the torque arm mount from your tranny that is currently in the '82 TA, if it's available.
-shifter location?
-motor mounts, you'll need oldmobile (BOP) mounts I think. I imagine the guys who've done the 455 pontiacs/buicks would know about this, probably the same deal.

You would be better off with a chevy engine, they never made mounts that would put the engine into that year frame exhaust would be Non existant and impossible to route, the BOP trans wont be correct and has no mounting provision for the torque arm (although you might be able to use a conversion kit for a TH-350) cooling outlets would be in the wrong place none of the brackets will line up... On and ON and On, it's really not worth the time it would take to convert everything over for an engine that has limited performance potential...Sorry!
